Description

Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is a simulation video game developed by the Polish studio Red Dot Games that depicts the work of a car mechanic. The game is played from a first-person perspective and allows the player to walk freely around the shop, showroom and barn where damaged cars can be purchased for repair and/or resale. The player has access to a wide range of tools, most of which are unlocked by completing jobs and gaining experience. Throughout the course of the game, players expand their workshops, thus enabling them to complete increasingly complex repair jobs as well as the restoration of classic cars.

Gameplay involves inspecting the various components of the vehicle's engine, suspension and chassis, identifying damaged components and replacing them. This can be done by purchasing replacement components or by repairing existing components at a higher level. The engine is rendered in great detail and requires the player to remove parts in a realistic manner in order to access the relevant components. In order to complete the required tasks, the player must use realistic hardware such as tyre balancers, spring pullers, parts kits and engine mounts.

During the course of the game, other parts of the workshop will be unlocked. These include a test track to identify brake and suspension problems with the car and a paint shop for painting and customising the car's bodywork.
