How to play

Just click on the sign up link, provide your name, address and create an account. It is worth noting that the registration link given here is provided by freecreditscore.com, through which you can see the free credit score as well as the credit report. If you sign up using the official website of experian, you will only see the free credit history and not the credit score. freecreditscore is affiliated with experian and the accounts are completely common between the two sides.

Experian offers a free service: at the top of the credit report you can see a summary of accounts, including the total number of open and closed accounts, account payments overdue, total credit limits and actual usage. The credit report provides detailed information about each account, including when the account was opened, the credit limit, and the repayment history. If you find any problems with the account information, you can also click on dispute in the bottom right corner to appeal and change the account record. The credit report also provides all hard pull inquiries, which are generally kept for two years. Public records are also provided at the end of the credit report, and if there is a record of bankruptcy, etc., it will show up here.

Experian provides the current credit score of the account, and at the bottom of the page, it also lists the specific factors that affect the credit score of the account. I just had more credit card applications recently, which caused more hard pulls, shortening the average time to open an account and causing my credit score to drop. Experian also provides a score tracker to track changes in your credit score, and offers Credit Alerts, a service that alerts you via email and mobile app when your credit score changes, new hard pulls, account openings/closures, credit card limit changes, etc. You will be able to check the specific alerts after logging in the website. This feature allows you to check if you have been hard pulled by the bank when applying for a card, and to be alerted if your SSN has been leaked and used to apply for a card.
