Tumblr is an application where people can express themselves freely and interact with friends. And now it has become one of the most popular social networking application and the biggest light blogging network. Users can post short essays, photos, videos or links and so on to attract friends. There is no words limit for Tumblr. You can also follow a blog and all the posts related will appear once you follow it, and repost it as yours. Other people or your friends will do it as you do, then you can meet and make friends here. There are seven post types you can meet here. The main page of Tumblr is Dashboard where will show the updates of all the followers. Following contents are supported to publish on Tumblr: Text: Text is availble, as well as HTML with no length of words limited. You can upload pictures among texts which will be reduced to 500px width. The title is optional to use. Photo: You can upload local photos or use your camera to shoot. It also supports external links as long as ten photos most at a time. Each picture is limited with 10M capcity, no format resrictions and descriptions can be added. Quote: You can quote other people’s statements, pictures or other contents. Descriptions can be added. Link: A simple link is available and the title is optional. Chat: A section of chat can be added with no format resricted. Audio: A piece of audio files can be uploaded with MP3 format only. You can use local files or external links. Descriptions can be added. Video: Videos can be embedded from all kinds of video websites, or you can just enter YouTube or Vimeo address link. Local videos can also be uploaded. How to play
When you create a Tumblr account, a new blog will automatically be created for you. However, you can create other Tumblr blogs on the same user account.
To create another Tumblr blog, click on your profile picture in the top right corner and go to Tumblrs>New.
The page will prompt you to give your new blog a name, choose a URL, and decide whether you want a public or private blog. You can also add password protection so that only approved people can see the content you post. The first time you log in to Tumblr, you'll reach the information center for your account. It's like a news feed on Facebook.
The Info Center is a live list of all the new content on all the blogs you follow. It is arranged chronologically.
On the right side of the page, you will see a list of recommended blogs for you to follow (based on what you already follow) and Radar. A post from Radar is trending throughout the site. Displaying your content here is the holy grail.
At the top of the page, there are tabs to browse the entire Tumblr site, send private messages to other users, and follow your account's activity.
If you decide to try you can create a blog on Tumblr, creating content is easy. On the Tumblr homepage, find the blue pen icon in the top right corner. Click on the icon and you can choose to create text messages, photos, quotes, links, chats, audio files, or video files.
Whenever you browse social media apps, it's not uncommon to see a post or link that piques your interest but that you don't have time to read at the moment. Therefore, you need a reliable way to find that content later in the day so you can dive in.
On Twitter, you can use the Like button as a bookmarking tool; Facebook has a saved items section when you can create your own collection of favorite content.
There is no native save feature on Tumblr, but there are two workarounds.
