New characters in Sonic Dash

Sonic Dash is a 2013 endless runner game developed by mobile game developer Hardlight and announced by Japanese game studio Sega. This is Hardlight's second Sonic the Hedgehog game, the first being 2012's Sonic Jump. Playing similarly to Temple Run and Rayman Jungle Run, Sonic Dash's goal is to avoid obstacles and enemies while collecting rings. Players guide Sonic or other characters through the levels, collecting rings and avoiding obstacles and enemies.

The game features 3D graphics, including levels set in an environment based on Sonic Heroes' Seaside Hill level. Rings can be collected throughout the levels or purchased through microtransactions, as well as Red Star Rings. Accumulated rings and Red Star Rings can be used to purchase props, upgrades or unlock additional playable characters. The game also features a quest system that gives players a goal to achieve while playing the game.

The game features several playable characters from the Sonic universe. Characters are unlocked by purchasing them using Red Star Rings or real world currency. After the game's release, further updates added additional characters and new features. on 31 October 2013, an update was released which included a Boss battle with Zazz, a member of the Deadly Six in Sonic Lost World. A similar boss battle with Dr. Egghead was added in a later update. Several characters from other non-Sega franchises have been added to the game as part of a temporary cross-promotion, which can only be unlocked for a limited time.

Each character in Sonic Dash is a special kind of presence. In a surprise move this May, Bongo, the enthusiastic mascot of children's yoghurt brand Danimals, will soon be joining Sonic Dash. players can unlock the monkey as a playable character in Sonic Dash simply by purchasing specially marked Danimals pouches and smoothies. Even if you're not a fan of Bongo you can still use these Sonic Dash branded Danimals to unlock new character customisations. You can use these Sonic Dash-branded Danimals packs to unlock new character customisations, including Sonic the Pirate and Captain Shadow. These character variants can be earned in-game by collecting all four birthday-themed items on the track, including a Danimals smoothie pack.

The collaboration between the two parties certainly brings an experience like no other for Sonic fans and a fantastic adventure for Danimals fans, all based on Danimals - in the Sonic universe!

Looking back at past and present limited-time crossover partners, these include Angry Birds characters Red, Chuck and Bomb in June 2015; Sanrio characters Hello Kitty, My Melody, Chococat and Badtz-Maru during December 2016; Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man in February 2018 Fans of Sonic Dash were left wondering what Sonic's 30th anniversary celebration had in store for us. We've seen Sonic team leader Takashi Iizuka tell us at E3 2019 that "Sonic's next big year is 2021". So far, we've learned about merchandise deals, brand partnerships and a new anime series on Netflix, but nothing substantial on the gaming side. Hopefully we'll know more on the gaming front soon.
