Description

RadarScope is a utility specifically displayed for weather enthusiasts and meteorologists that allows you to view NEXRAD Class 3 and ultra-high resolution radar data as well as tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flash floods and special marine warnings, and expected storm tracks issued by the National Weather Service. It can display the latest reflectivity, velocity, dual polarisation and other products from any NEXRAD or TDWR radar site in the US, Guam, Puerto Rico, Korea and Okinawa, as well as data radar from Environment Canada and the Australian Bureau of Meteorology. These are not smoothed images, this is raw radar data presented in its original radial format with a high level of detail.

Whether you are scanning reflectivity to find the hook echoes of a mesocyclone, identifying the landing point of a hurricane's eye wall, or looking for small features such as velocity couplets in the relative radial velocity product of a storm, RadarScope allows you to view real radial weather radar data.

RadarScope displays tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, flash floods and special marine warnings issued by the US National Weather Service. You can browse the list of active warnings, select warnings to view details and even zoom in on selected warnings on the map.

Pinch or stretch to zoom in and out. Drag your finger over the map to scroll. Click on the Radar Scan button in the toolbar to switch radars. Choose one of 289 different radars in the USA, Canada, Australia, Korea, Puerto Rico, Guam or Okinawa. Plot your current position by tapping the "Position" button and selectively report it to the Spotter network. Tap the "Play" button to join and animate the most recent image. When zoomed, the names of over 25,000 towns are displayed on the map. Click and hold on the colour legend to see the data values.

At the same time, RadarScope will automatically and intelligently retrieve and display the updated data (approximately every 2 to 10 minutes, depending on the radar scanning strategy).

Tier One subscribers can also use the data query tool to quickly determine data values for specific radar pixels and can use the optional dual-pane mode to view two radar products side-by-side.

RadarScope Pro Tier Two is available as an annual or monthly subscription and combines all the features of Tier One with more advanced features including SPC forecasts, local storm reports, hail size and probability contours and 30-day archived azimuthal shear contours for the US. All Radar products, plus the ability to use subscription features on multiple platforms.

If you choose to purchase a RadarScope Pro subscription, the cost will be deducted from your Google Play account. Subscriptions are automatically renewed and you will be charged at the beginning of each subscription period.
