Sky Map is a handheld planetarium for your Android device. Use it to identify stars, planets, nebulae and more. Originally developed as Google Sky Map, it has now been donated and made open source.
Map won't move/point to the wrong place
Make sure you have not switched to manual mode. Does your phone have a compass? If not, Sky Map cannot tell you where to go. Find it here: http : //www.gsmarena.com/
How to play
Are there any magnets or metals nearby that might interfere with the compass?
Try turning off "magnetic correction" (in the settings) to see if it is more accurate.
Why doesn't my phone support automatic location?
In Android 6, the way permissions work has changed. You need to enable location permissions for Sky Map as described here: https : //support.google.com/googleplay/answer/6270602?p=app_permissons_m
Maps are tight
Try adjusting the sensor speed and damping (in the settings). We're coming up with a better solution!
Do I need an internet connection?
No, but some functions (such as entering your location manually) will not work properly. You must use GPS or enter latitude and long
