How to play
Players start at level 1 and go up to level 9, with each level giving you an additional hero on the battlefield and the ability to use stronger heroes as the game progresses. Players receive 2 experience points (XP) per turn played, or they can spend 4 gold coins in exchange for 4 experience points. Whether or not to spend gold in exchange for experience depends on the player's overall strategy and the initial lineup of heroes at the beginning of the game.
As the heroes you can buy with gold are completely random, it is not easy to find the right hero lineup. Each hero has a unique origin and profession, and there are 13 origins and 10 professions in total. Forming a line-up with similar origins and professions will give the heroes the appropriate enhancements to improve their chances of winning the next round.
There are two main ways in which players can strengthen the heroes in their line-ups: items and stars.
Items can be attached to specific heroes to enhance the amount of damage they deal or to give them unique attack characteristics. Players can acquire items during the configuration phase and the PvE phase.
On the other hand, combining the same heroes will raise their star rating and strengthen their overall basic value; combining three 1-star heroes will create a 2-star hero and combining three 2-star heroes will create a 3-star hero.
Heroes are priced on a tiered system, with level 1 heroes costing 1 gold coin, level 2 heroes costing 2 gold coins and so on, up to level 5. Generally speaking, the higher the level of the hero, the stronger the hero, however, level 5 heroes are very rare and it is unlikely that players will have all level 5 heroes on the battlefield.
